Description
Of the ships that arrived from Scotland to Pictou, at least 235 are known to have conveyed passengers. It is probably that many of the remainder also carried people to this privince. A graph would show a high immigration in the years (1815-22) following the end of the Napoleoic Wars. Another and mich more modest peak period occured just adter the turn of the century (1801-04).
