David Matheson Letter, 1877

Description

Letter:

“Pictou 31st March 1877

Mr. Ebenezer McLeod

Dear Sir

I herewith send a receipt for a Pent Road for a woman who lives somewhere near Same Archibald-Miller which you will. Please attend to. I also by [duration?] up sessions return you the Receipt by which you laid unto the road from 4 Mile Brook to West River road for the purpose as you will see endorsed thereon [Repts?] referred back to committee to narrow the road opposite the barn of George McKenzie.
When the road came up in sessions for confirmation George McKenzie made strong objections to the confirmation on the grounds that it interfered so much with his orchard and it was thought if you were to go back and examine the ground you might make some slight alteration on his premises as would satisfy him and not seriously injure the road.
You will therefore do the best you can – compromising with him and getting the matters settled. You will make any alteration you make on the plan make a minute of [eupumtion?] somewhere to comprise return the papers again to me in time for July sessions.

                                                                                                Yours by truly

                                                                                                            David Matheson C.P.”
