Rev Dr John Geddie, son of John Geddie and Mary Menzies emigrated with his parents and three sisters to Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1816. He married Charlotte MacDonald, daugther of Charlotte Leonora Harrington and Dr Alexander MacDonald of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The children of John and Charlotte were: Charlotte Anne, Helen Jessie MacDonald, Elizabeth Keir, Lucretia, John Williams, Jane Fraser, Mary Sophia and Alexander.
