Dear Brother I embrace this opportunity of sending you these few lines to let you know I am in good health thanks to you I'm hoping this shall find you in the same I consider myself clear of that complaint now and for your getting married I think you can't do better if you can find a good one if so may god bless you both as for tin ware I suppose it would sell welll here but as I have not settled at a home yet I can't take any yet but before the spring I expect I shall know how I am to settle and I shall write you again by that time I expect I long very much to see my Father & Mother and more especially my Daughter however I must drop the thought for I like this country better nor the old country as there is more freedom in this I once thought of going home but I think I'll not go now
I don't think that I can build the mill this season [but] I depend upon [Alex] for my irons but I can't give him the dementions yet I expect you will let him know that I am well an you have more opportunity than me you must excuse me for not writting sooner for the opportunities was commonly gone before I -- knew I expect you will write me with the first opportunity
