Mr. Caleb Priest
The death of one of the oldest residents of Pictou County occurred on Wednesday when Mr. Caleb Priest passed away at the advanced age of 91 years. Mr. Priest was born at Albion Mines (now Stellarton), his father having come out from the Old Country to open up the mines for the General Mining Association. Later his father removed to Pictou and Caleb Priest learned the trade of blacksmith but he did not care for it, preferring the land and so he secured the farm on which he spent the greater part of his long life, and he made the farm one of the best in the county. He leaves two sons, Fraser, on the homestead, and ex-Mayor J. W. Priest of Pictou. The funeral was held this afternoon to the Central Carriboo cemetery.
