Description
Rev. J.E. Forbes, Minister of Zion Church, Eureka, is not a stranger to the journalistic field and for two years has been publishing a small paper called the Eureka Monthly Visitor. Now he has enlarged the field of the paper and calls it “Pictou County Visitor,” It is an interesting mixture of news of church, and general matter. It is readable, well gotten out and not without its dash of humour. Several interesting articles are carried in its columns and it will no doubt be accepted with appreciation by a constantly widening range of readers. The issue before us is termed “Special Mother’s Day number,” and has a very pleasing feature in a frontispiece which is a picture of Mrs. Henry Munro of Hopewell, who is 95 years of age this summer. In an editorial Mrs. Munro is referred to “as representing the worthy old Mothers of Pictou County. Although in her ninety-fifth year, she is still a delightful conversationalist and her movements are almost like those of a girl. She has two sons living, Dan at Providence, R.I., and Harry at Sydney, N.S. Her friends hope that Mrs. Munro may be spared to reach her century mark.”
