Description
This indenture made this fourteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five between George Fredrick and Susannah his wife of the one part and John McMinn of the west River of Pictou in the district aforesaid Trader of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said George F. Langille for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and sixty pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia to him in hand well and truly paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted, bargained, sold, remised, released and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, remised, released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell remise release, enfeoff and confirm unto the said John McMinn his heirs and assigns, forever a certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate lying and being at River John in the district aforesaid and bounded and described as follows that is to say on the west by a lot of land owned by James Langille oath south by a lot of Joseph Langille on the east by lands of John Peter Perin, John Joudary, David ____, and David Langille and out the north by lands in the possession of Nathan Gratto being the whole of the lo t on which the said George Fredrick Langille resided containing two hundred acres more or less which said lot piece or parcel of land of land was conveyed to the said George F. Langille by Grant Christopher L. ____ and others the twelfth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirteen and marked as number three on a plan attached to the said Grant refined as being thereunto had will more fully and ag large appear with all and singular the ways, waters, watercourses, buildings, improvements, privileges belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and reminders rents, issues, and profits thereof together with all the estate, right, title, interest, claim property and demand of him the said George F. Langille in to or upon the said premises or any part there of to have and to hold the said lot of land and premises every part thereof with the privilege and appurtenances to him the said John McMinn his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use benefits and behoof to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever and the said George F. Langille for himself his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns doth by these presents covenant, promise and agree to and with the said John McMinn his heirs. Executors and administrators in manner and forever following that is to say that the said George F. Langille his heirs and assigns the said lot piece or parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said John McMinn his heirs and assigns and against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person or persons whomsoever well warrant maintain and forever defend and the said Susannah wife of the said George for and in consideration of the premise and of the sum of five shillings to her in hand paid by the said John McMinn the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth remise, release assign transfer and set over unto the said John McMinn his heir and assigns all her right interest and claim in and to the said of and land and premises above descried and every part thereof which the now hath or hereafter may have by right or lower or otherwise.
In witnesseth whereof the land parties have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and set the day and year first above written.
Signed, sealed, and delivered in the presence of James ___ and George Langille
Received on the day of the date of this foregoing deed of indenture from the therein named John McMinn the sum of three hundred and sixty pounds being the full consideration money until said deed mentioned.
On this sixteenth day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four before me the subscriber one of his majesty’s justices of the peace for the district of Pictou personally appeared Susannah Langille with of the said George Langille whose named is subscribed with the foregoing indenture bearing by me examined separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged that the said freely and voluntary and without compulsion from her said husband signed, sealed and executed the foregoing indenture for the purpose therein mentioned.
